Dairy Foods Science Skill-a-Thon
DAIRY FOODS SCIENCE
SKILL-A-THON
Sponsored by Land O’Lakes Foundation, Inc.
The Dairy Foods Science Skill-a-thon is an educational activity for youth to share their knowledge and skills gained in the Foods-Nutrition project. The purpose is to encourage youth to learn the nutritional contributions of dairy products and acquire skills in planning, purchasing, preparing, and serving dairy products in meals and snacks.
The skill-a-thon involves:
- Giving a demonstration or illustrated talk on a dairy foods science topic at Favorite Foods Day or County Presentation Day.
- Entering two food items in the Dairy Foods Science Skill-a-thon at the Tulare Co. 4-H Field Day.
- Researching a dairy foods science topic and design an educational table top display for the Tulare Co. 4-H Field Day.
- Participating in an exhibitor interview at the Tulare County 4-H Field Day.
