Retirement Announcement

I’m retiring June 27th after 36 years as viticulture farm advisor in Tulare County. What a great experience! What an honor to work with farmers and their families, agriculture in general, and the communities in Tulare County! What a privilege to associate with so many talented UC scientists and educators!

I am blessed to have been able to work with so many genuine, hard working people in agriculture. I have many fond memories and experiences, some hilarious, some sad, but all treasures. My wife and I raised our kids on a small farm near Woodlake and so they too experienced the trials, tribulations, freedom, and wide open spaces that farm life provides. My daughter graduated from UC Davis this June and my son is a Davis sophomore, both in the College of Agriculture, and so the beat goes on.

Upon retirement, my wife and I plan to continue working our farm near Woodlake. I enjoy science and education and will continue to actively engage myself in these endeavors. We also have plans to take a little more time and do some traveling (mostly by boat), hiking the Sierra Nevada, and enjoying our family.

I am privileged to have worked in the Tulare County UC Cooperative Extension office all these years; the staff enjoys a well earned reputation as one of the best in the state. I am proud to have been a part of it.

With that, I bid adieu.

Sincerely,

Bill Peacock
