Gateway to A Better Life is a curriculum emphasizing workforce preparedness. The curriculum utilizes simple, engaging activities to educate those preparing to enter the workforce by addressing job acquisition as well as balancing work and home life.
Money 2000+ is a financial fitness program designed to help participants increase their savings or reduce their debt by $2000 by the end of the year 2000. Participants receive worksheets, encouragement and a quarterly newsletter with information to help them reach the financial goals they've set for themselves.
The Our Low-income Nutrition Education Programs are directed at individuals and families with children. Adults learn how to improve their family's diet, understand nutrition, shop wisely, prepare food safely, learn about good nutrition and health practices, and manage money. Evaluations of participants' diets show significant and continued improvements in their eating habits, especially in the consumption of milk, fruits and vegetables.
The Child and Family Development Program provides several educational resources to help parents promote the physical, social and intellectual development of their young children, enhancing school readiness and performance.
Facts for Tulare County Consumers is a
quarterly newsletter available to County residents. The newsletter provides
current, research-based information on a variety of subjects including nutrition
and health, financial management, parenting and family development.
